Your United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region asks everyone living in the communities of Montgomery, Houston, and Stewart Counties and the
Fort Campbell area to answer the call to LIVE UNITED and send in your gift or pledge to your United Way’s 2009-2010 community campaign today.

The increased level of need throughout our service region that our United Way and its partner agencies are experiencing annually due to the growth of our community is being significantly compounded this year by the impact of rising fuel prices, the slowing economy, and cuts to many state and federal grant programs.

Fifty three years ago, the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region was established as a fund raising and fund distributing organization. Your United Way is evolving beyond its traditional role to an organization focusing on achieving positive long-term impact in our community. Like other communities throughout our nation, the needs and issues of Montgomery, Houston, and Stewart Counties and the Fort Campbell area are growing. With these growing needs come the need for increased and more widespread support from this regional community to ensure your United Way and its partner agencies can continue their work to advance the common good.

Advancing the common good is creating opportunities for a better life for all. When we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable and when people have good health. These results and changes have benefits that ripple out to the community as a whole.

There are basic things that we all need for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, income that can support a family through retirement, and good health. Our goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems. We don’t just address the symptoms of a problem. We go deeper to get to the underlying causes.

It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. Together, we can accomplish more than any single group can on its own. We ask you to LIVE UNITED and be a part of the change. Be a part of improving the health, education and income of people in Montgomery, Houston, and Stewart counties and the Fort Campbell Area. Your United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region, Inc., is a local, independent non-profit organization exempt from income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Governed by a Board of Directors comprised of local community leaders and volunteers, your United Way evaluates and provides financial support to over 36 programs administered by 32 health and human service partner agencies in Montgomery, Houston, and Stewart counties and the Fort Campbell area.
