How Does United Way Invest My Donations?

When you make a pledge, either by payroll deduction or through a one time gift, those dollars are on their way to a local family or program in need.

Here's How It Works:

Your gift along with donations from others like you is held under the watchful eye of knowledgeable volunteers in your community.

Before United Way disperses even a dollar, each of the 33 non-profit United Way agencies must submit a strict outcome assessment form. This form shows United Way volunteers how your dollars have and will make a difference. United Way asks for details on everything from the number of people served to case studies on lives improved.

After a detailed review during the United Way Budget & Allocations process, volunteers identify Clarksville's most critical needs. After careful considerations, your money in invested only in the programs that are proving they are beneficial to your community.

That's the beauty of it. United Way does the homework so you don't have to. It's the only review process of its kind in Clarksville. And it's the only way you can be sure your money is going to the family who needs it most.

What Exactly Can My Pledge Do?

United Way welcomes gifts, regardless of the amount. You should never feel pressure to give more than you are able to. The agencies that benefit from your gift are thankful for your generosity and United Way can assure your gift will only go to the families that need it most.
